Dat Mong

Position:

Certified Stretch Tech

Bio:

Dat is originally from Vietnam. His family moved to San Diego for him and his younger sister to have a successful future. He currently attends San Diego Miramar Community College majoring in Kinesiology and plans to transfer to San Diego State University. In high school, Dat decided to join the Cross Country and Track and Field teams which helped change his perspective on how truly important the human body is. Now, finally comfortable in his own body, he wants to assist the community through the health and wellness industry. He aspires to be a Physical Therapist or a coach in the field of Kinesiology. Dat started as a Stretch Tech in June 2021. What he likes most about working at Stretch U is being able to help many people through assisted stretching. When he sees clients walk out feeling better and ready to tackle the day, he feels that he is making an impact which is his ultimate goal.

When he’s not in the studio, Dat likes to enjoy his free time with his family, friends, and girlfriend. In addition, he loves to go to the gym to weight train and to travel around California to discover new and cool locations. Before the pandemic, Dat would volunteer at local 5k and marathon races, give food out to the homeless with Feeding America, and even participated in a homeless awareness group called Acts of Kindness when he was in high school. His favorite foods are a hearty bowl of pho, KBBQ, Shabu Shabu, Nashville-style hot chicken sandos, Korean fried chicken, and a perfect medium-rare ribeye steak! Some of his favorite movies are Shawshank Redemption, La La Land, the Kingsmen Series, Inception, and any Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie. His favorite music genres are hip-hop, R&B, and rap. His favorite music artists are Tyler the Creator, SZA, Brockhampton, and Jhene Aiko.
