John Carey’s Story

John M. Carey, inventor of The Carey Stretch

As Director of Physical Therapy at Oklahoma State Seretean Wellness Center, John Carey helped athletes improve their performance, simultaneously helping them to avoid pain and injury.

John has also had more than 15 years of success in developing strength and conditioning programs for various professional and amateur athletes, including PGA golfers, Major League Baseball players, minor league players, baseball players at Oklahoma State University, Olympic wrestlers, and European professional basketball players.

Already classically trained as a Physical Therapist, John explored the potential of Manual Therapy through extensive training. With such insight and his experience in helping athletes under his care, he methodically developed the innovative technique now called The Carey Stretch. His approach combines Australian and Norwegian Manual Therapy, those being the two major schools of thought in this field.

After successfully using his techniques for years — helping people with debilitating injuries and building champions in professional sports — now he has simplified his system to its core, making it available to all.

John currently consults privately with athletes and other serious sports-minded individuals in manual physical therapy, strength training, wellness, and nutrition.
